Asset Management

CGG executive team members were responsible for managing the asset collection of Majestic Holdco after it emerged from bankruptcy in early 2012 through spring 2019. During this period, quality of management was improved, non-core assets were disposed and privately-held high interest notes were refinanced to traditional bank loans. Ultimately, the project resulted in a disposition of the company which provided a substantial return for shareholders.

Expert Counsel

CGG management advised a group of private equity owners during the successful sale of a southern casino's group of assets. Leveraging its diverse expertise and background, CGG has successfully introduced US standards for casino internal controls and compliance initiatives throughout an international portfolio of properties.

Property Expansion

A team of CGG professionals facilitated the growth of Hyatt Gaming from seven properties to 12 worldwide, overseeing the design and greenfield construction of new facilities, multiple renovations and remodeling of existing assets.


Strategic Realignment

CGG team members were responsible for managing a profitable sale and disposition of gaming assets as part of the strategic alignment of a high-net-worth family ownership group.

Employer / Union Negotiations

CGG management led successful negotiations with multiple employee unions appealing to the best interest of both the employer and employees.

Human Resources

CGG team members directed the strategic application of benefits administration to reduce costs associated with unnecessary ER visits, abuse of Rx Benefits program and overall reduction in plan costs.


Casino Resort Operations

Collectively, the CGG team represents more than 150 years of experience in land-based, riverboat and Native American Casino resorts domestically and internationally. CGG's talent mix is diverse and offers unique perspectives to bring added value to its client's business.

Historical Horse Racing Terminals

The CGG team boasts an impressive track record of success with respect to horse racing. CGG experts were instrumental in introducing "alternative gaming" to horse tracks in the form of Historical Horse Racing terminals and fostering an inclusive gaming ambiance that dramatically increased revenues.

Marketing / Public Relations

CGG management was responsible for an annual marketing and public relations budget exceeding $150 million for several domestic and international casino resorts. CGG's marketing and public relations efforts have resulted in improved brand visibility, increased traffic and enhanced relationships with company audiences.

Peter Liguori

Managing Partner and President

Peter Liguori

Mr. Liguori is a gaming executive with over 35 years' experience in land-based, riverboat and Native American casino resorts domestically and internationally. Prior to founding CGG, Mr. Liguori served for seven years as CEO of Majestic Holdco, a gaming and hospitality company representing four casino properties. Mr. Liguori also previously served as CFO, followed by President, of Hyatt Gaming Management Inc. for over 14 years, Vice President of Finance of Ameristar Casinos, Director of Finance at Trump Taj Mahal and in finance at Harrah's Entertainment. Throughout his career, Mr. Liguori has also served on several gaming company Boards.

Nick Hughes

Expertise: Operations, Horse Racing, Development

Mr. Hughes has over 35 years' experience in the casino industry both domestically and internationally, with significant skills and experience in all aspects of building or revamping an operation from scratch. His properties have won industry awards and created record returns for investors in both increased revenues and business value. Mr. Hughes was instrumental in owner investor relations for Hyatt properties in Europe, South America and the United States. Mr. Hughes is also an investor/owner in several casino businesses and brings a dedicated focus on startup planning, renovation projects, horse track and historical horse racing machine businesses as well as all aspects of traditional casino operation to the Chesapeake team and added value to our clients.

Expertise: Marketing, Project Development, Public Relations

Mr. Sheldon is a seasoned gaming executive with an established track record of success starting with Hilton Hotels Corporation in Las Vegas before advancing to the corporate office with regional responsibilities. Subsequently, he held major leadership roles that included corporate executive level responsibilities for multiple properties in various domestic and international jurisdictions. Before joining CGG in May 2019, Mr. Sheldon served as Senior Vice President Marketing for Full House Resorts which was preceded by similar positions at Majestic Holdco, Boyd Gaming, Nevada Region and Hyatt Gaming Management.

Gary Burrus, Ph.D., CLSD

Expertise: Operations, Human Resources, Development

Mr. Burrus is among the most influential voices in executive hotel management with expertise centered on human resources management, workforce training and development and casino, resort and hotel operations. Mr. Burrus brings valuable experience in managing resorts, including golf operations, customer service programs, retail, security and risk management, regulatory affairs and entertainment/recreation facilities management. Mr. Burrus also serves as a college lecturer in casino and resort operations programs.
